DANIEL CRAIG QUESTIONS INVASION
Daniel Craig stars as a doctor who questions the government’s handling of aliens invading in The Invasion. |
The first Invasion of the Body Snatchers based on Jack Finney’s classic novel took place in 1956 when a small town doctor discovers his patients are being replaced by alien duplicates. Cut to 1978 for the remake starring Donald Sutherland and Jeff Goldblum being cloned in San Francisco. |
The Invasion is the most modern version of the tale starring psychiatrist Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig as her doctor boyfriend fighting off an alien germ in Washington, DC that threatens to steal their humanity. |
“He’s not jumping the gun. He’s not suddenly going, ‘oh oh the aliens have arrived. And I think he kind of holds back on that for as long as possible because he’s a doctor and he tries to sort of look at it as logically as possible until it all goes wrong.” |
In the film we’re not quite sure if the government is on the alien’s side by telling people everything is OK. Daniel says the film raises a few questions about blindly following our leaders. |
“We should all be questioning our existence a little occasionally. We can’t do it all the time because we’ve got to carry on with our lives but we should question what our governments tell us is the truth and keep at them because the more we keep at them the better job they’ll do.” |
Daniel Craig got the call that he was to be the next James Bond in Casino Royale while filming The Invasion. |
