ETHAN HAWKE LEARNS HE IS AN IDIOT FOR HOTTEST STATE LOVE
Ethan Hawke talks about first love and how he feels about love at first sight. |
Ethan Hawke explores the passion and newness of first love set in the border town of El Paso, Texas and Tijuana, Mexico in The Hottest State based on his novel of the same name. |
Ethan who grew up in Fort Worth, Texas remembers a thing or two about his own experience with first love which inspired the book. |
“I always think when people talk about love at first sight it’s like any other kind of coincidence. Often times people say, ‘we’ve been married for 40 years and I knew the minute I saw her.’ Well they don’t mention is the guy felt that way about 50 women he met and saw that night, just they all didn’t turn out that well. You know I fall in love at first sight all the time. Love at first sight is not real love because you can’t really love somebody until you know them.” |
In the film a struggling actor played by Mark Webber and an aspiring singer played by Catalina Sandino Moreno meet and fall head over heels. Ethan talks about whether or not he believes in love at first sight. |
