KORN INTEGRATING JOEY FROM SLIPKNOT?

Korn discussed the progress being made by Slipknot’s Joey Jordison, who is handling drum duties for the band for Family Values.

Korn has been touring with Family Values along with Evanescence, Flyleaf, Trivium, and Hellyeah among others. With drummer David Silveria taking a leave of absence, the drum duties have fallen to Slipknot skin-basher Joey Jordison. Guitar duties on this tour are shared by James Munky Shaeffer and ex-Sevendust and current Dark New Day member, Clint Lowery.

We caught up with Korn last week, and we asked them what the biggest challenge was in getting Jordison into the fold.

[Jonathan Davis} “Tempos…” [Fieldy] “Every night I see that guy and give him a hug and I say play slow and powerful…” [Davis] “…slow and powerful.” [Fieldy] “…because he’s used to fast– Slipknot, you know.” [Davis] “Yeah, his tempos were really really fast, but now he’s got it down pretty good.”

We also asked them about any long-term possibilities with Jordison.

“No, no, no. He’s got Slipknot. He’s got his band. He’s gotta do his thing.”

Korn will be on tour with Family Values through its closing in Irvine, California on September 2. Jonathan Davis, Munky and Fieldy are out supporting their recently released untitled album.rn
