KORN INTEGRATING JOEY FROM SLIPKNOT?
Korn discussed the progress being made by Slipknot’s Joey Jordison, who is handling drum duties for the band for Family Values. |
Korn has been touring with Family Values along with Evanescence, Flyleaf, Trivium, and Hellyeah among others. With drummer David Silveria taking a leave of absence, the drum duties have fallen to Slipknot skin-basher Joey Jordison. Guitar duties on this tour are shared by James Munky Shaeffer and ex-Sevendust and current Dark New Day member, Clint Lowery. |
We caught up with Korn last week, and we asked them what the biggest challenge was in getting Jordison into the fold. |
[Jonathan Davis} “Tempos…” [Fieldy] “Every night I see that guy and give him a hug and I say play slow and powerful…” [Davis] “…slow and powerful.” [Fieldy] “…because he’s used to fast– Slipknot, you know.” [Davis] “Yeah, his tempos were really really fast, but now he’s got it down pretty good.” |
We also asked them about any long-term possibilities with Jordison. |
“No, no, no. He’s got Slipknot. He’s got his band. He’s gotta do his thing.” |
Korn will be on tour with Family Values through its closing in Irvine, California on September 2. Jonathan Davis, Munky and Fieldy are out supporting their recently released untitled album.rn |
