Dallas Austin set to launch Rowdy Clothing line…..

Super producer Dallas Austin has produced hits for Michael Jackson, TLC, Monica, Ciara, Janet Jackson, Madonna, and others in the past. He’s also serve as an executive producer on movies such as ATL and Drumline. Now the super-producer has decided to conquer fashion. He’s plans to launch his Rowdy Clothing Line next January. The line is named after the record label he founded in 1992.

Austin said, “I found that there was a lack of men’s clothing that spoke to the new generation. I wanted to fill that void by creating a brand that exemplifies cutting edge style, and a collection that breaks ethnic boundaries.” The line, which is described as having “punk and prep influences, with a distinctive European militant touch,” will feature jeans, classic polos, bomber jackets, military jackets and sneakers.

“It takes a lot of work to get to that many people and to write a song that that many people can hear. And so like then when you do one, you say yeah okay that’s cool but can you do another one. So that takes you a good few years to get through that thing of like the testy waters in the industry. And then after that it’s like usually you take a platform and you just coast the rest of it out. You gonna have records that some times are hits and some don’t but at that point it doen’t even matter any more. It’s back to the basics of do I like that song myself that I wrote. And so yeah it’s agreat feeling to be over that hump. I tell you that much.”

Austin isn’t expecting the line to be an overnight success. He understands that it takes time to be successful in every industry. He shared the progression he went through as a producer before reaching super-producer status. Austin said,
