J. HOLIDAY TAPPED TO OPEN FOR KEYSHIA COLE

R&B singer J. Holiday will release his debut album, Bac Of My Lac, on October 2nd. The first single from the project is “Bed.” The singer was recently tapped to open for R&B singer Keyshia Cole. The tour will kick-off on Friday, August 10th, in Minneapolis and will wrap on September 9th in Seattle, Washington. |
Recently J. Holiday explained how he got his stage name. The Washington, DC-native said, |
“Well J stands for James and that’s my uncle, he’s deceased. He passed away in 1991 so I always wanted to keep his memory alive, you know what I’m sayin’? And Holiday came in cause everybody was like yo this dude is just like, he really sings you know what I’m sayin’? And Holiday when you think of Holiday you think of folks that can really go, you know what I’m sayin’? People was like it’s just so easy to work your music man. I feel like I’m on vacation when I work your music cause everybody like your music. So they just dubbed me J. Holiday.” |
Back of My Lac features production by Rodney Jerkins and Carlos McKinney, and songwriting by Sean Garrett. Holiday, who began his career as a back-up singer for Ginuwine, also wrote four songs on the album. The singer hopes to one day pen some songs for his peers. |
