MALCOLM MCDOWELL LOOKS LIKE ROB ZOMBIE IN HALLOWEEN
Malcolm McDowell wore a wig to portray the young Dr. Loomis that resembled his Halloween director. |
When Malcolm McDowell met Rob Zombie for lunch at the famed restaurant Mr. Chows in Los Angeles to discuss the role of Dr. Loomis in Halloween he just searched for a Charles Manson look-a-like. |
Now McDowell is convinced that Zombie is very different than what his outward appearance suggests. |
“Well I think his whole persona, as we know him as this great rocker and all the rest of it is very misleading because he looks like Satan himself you know. He’s Charles Manson you’re gonna meet. He’s very intelligent, very sweet man and very quiet and self assured. He’s a wonderful guy. I really enjoyed working with him very much. He’s very bright.” |
In the film Dr. Loomis ages 17 years and to make himself look younger, McDowell went through a reversed aging process which included a Zombie-esque wig. |
“I start off looking a bit like Rob Zombie actually with long sort of hippie hairdo and all that. I’ve got the beard of course and a mustache but the hair is very ala Rob. It was getting in my mouth and I couldn’t eat lunch with it. I said, ‘how do you manage with this thing?’ It’s ridiculous but it was fun to do. My daughter who came to the premiere sat there and hadn’t got a clue that it was me for about five minutes.” |
Malcolm is looking forward to going to Africa next year to revisit playing Albert Schweitzer, this time as an older man when he receives the Nobel Prize. |
