KEVIN BACON BRAVES SOME DEATH DEFYING STUNTS
Kevin Bacon did some of his own stunts in Death Sentence, as long as they weren’t too dangerous. |
Kevin Bacon never thought of himself as a stunt man but in Death Sentence he performs some of his own action sequences like running marathon distances in pursuit of the gang members who kill his son, and selling a punch. |
Kevin describes them including one hair raising stunt where you almost think he won’t make it. |
“There’s a lot of fighting, there’s a lot of running. There’s a great sequence where I’m in a car rolling backwards towards the edge and I’m kicking the window out and jumping out of the car and pretty much all of that is me except for maybe the final shot where it goes over the edge.” |
Kevin leaves the really dangerous stuff to his stunt double like crashing through a railing and falling 30 feet below as he wants to be around for his family. |
“I want to make it very clear that I had a very good stunt man, his name is Steve Ritzi and while I would like to pretend that I do every single stunt it’s just not true. It’s always important to know that you have to be well enough to come and film the next day and I also feel a responsibility to my family to stick around. So while I do as much as I possibly can and I did a lot in this movie, Steve did some of the stuff too.” |
Death Sentence directed by Saw director James Wan is currently playing in theaters. |
