PAUL GIAMATTI GLAD TO TORTURE CLIVE OWEN

Playing an assassin in Shoot ‘Em Up Paul Giamatti derived secret pleasure from his torture scenes.

Paul Giamatti derived great pleasure in torturing good guy Clive Owen in his first bad guy role as an assassin in Shoot ‘Em Up.

In one graphic scene which will have you peeking through your fingers, Paul describes how much fun it was to crack Clive’s digits.

“Very much so, loved it. My favorite thing I think I’ve ever done breaking fingers. It was really fun. I love the way he filmed it. It gets all trippy and weird. That was a good time. They had these great plastic hands so I could really tear around. It was great.”

Paul is certain that Clive Owen was not physically harmed during the making of the movie.

“Not by me. I didn’t harm a hair on that lovely man’s head. And I don’t think he sustained a single injury. It was amazing that he didn’t in this movie. I don’t believe that I sustained any injuries but I wasn’t doing anything like he was doing. He was just doing crazy ass stuff flying in the air. It was crazy, crazy but he’s good at that stuff.”

Paul attributes all the sick action in Shoot ‘Em Up to writer/director Michael Davis’ weird sense of humor. He’s ready for the next installment from Davis where the weapon of choice will be karate and punching instead of gunfire.
