PAUL GIAMATTI GLAD TO TORTURE CLIVE OWEN
Playing an assassin in Shoot ‘Em Up Paul Giamatti derived secret pleasure from his torture scenes. |
Paul Giamatti derived great pleasure in torturing good guy Clive Owen in his first bad guy role as an assassin in Shoot ‘Em Up. |
In one graphic scene which will have you peeking through your fingers, Paul describes how much fun it was to crack Clive’s digits. |
“Very much so, loved it. My favorite thing I think I’ve ever done breaking fingers. It was really fun. I love the way he filmed it. It gets all trippy and weird. That was a good time. They had these great plastic hands so I could really tear around. It was great.” |
Paul is certain that Clive Owen was not physically harmed during the making of the movie. |
“Not by me. I didn’t harm a hair on that lovely man’s head. And I don’t think he sustained a single injury. It was amazing that he didn’t in this movie. I don’t believe that I sustained any injuries but I wasn’t doing anything like he was doing. He was just doing crazy ass stuff flying in the air. It was crazy, crazy but he’s good at that stuff.” |
Paul attributes all the sick action in Shoot ‘Em Up to writer/director Michael Davis’ weird sense of humor. He’s ready for the next installment from Davis where the weapon of choice will be karate and punching instead of gunfire. |
