KEVIN KLINE CAN NOT TRUST THE INTERNET

In Trade Kevin Kline plays a Texas cop who gets involved with investigating an internet sex slave trade where young girls are kidnapped and brought through Mexico City to be auctioned off on the internet to the highest bidder from headquarters in New Jersey.

Kevin, who is a father of two and married to Phoebe Cates is often shocked by what he reads about himself on the web, let alone learning about seedier means to use cyberspace.

“Supposedly my wife and I we have a third child named Autumn because someone decided we’re expecting our third baby and it’s due in the autumn so what else would we name it but Autumn. So you can’t believe everything you read. Also I’ve been credited with appearing in certain films that were never made so that’s part of my filmography that I’ve read on the internet. You can’t believe everything you read even on the internet.”

Kevin and Phoebe believe in communication with their kids when it comes to monitoring their activity on the web.

“Sure it’s terrifying on many, many levels the access we have to information. Because there’s no piece in the internet that discerns what is good information, bad information, true, hyped, realistic, factual. So we just talk about it and that’s the main thing is to communicate the unsavoriness and dangers that lie therein with the seeing, viewing, searching for inappropriate material.”

What is true and has been reported on various websites is Kline’s upcoming Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac costarring Jennifer Garner as Roxanne with previews beginning in October.
