POLISH POP STAR REACTS TO INTERNET SEX TRADE
Poland’s pop star Alicja Bachleda makes her American film debut in Trade playing a young Polish woman who comes to the states thinking she has been chosen for a modeling career, but soon discovers it’s only a ruse when she is forced into the internet sex trade. |
Alicja was more aware of human trafficking going on in Europe was surprised to find out it had spread to the United States. |
“You know I was pretty surprised those things are happening in the United States, especially in New Jersey where you would think that’s the capital of world’s law and order. I was very surprised it’s kind of happening in front of our eyes and they can’t really detect it or I don’t want to go there. I don’t know the reason why they wouldn’t stop this but I was aware of those things happening in Europe.” |
Alicja is well aware of the evil that can be achieved through the internet and hopes that governments will intervene to stop it. |
“Of course so I knew that it’s pretty scary and risky what can be done on line and how people feel anonymous at the same time they think they can escape any punishment because they are just some nickname. I just hope that this will be stopped. I really hope that as much as government can track other things, hackers or whatever they can track as well these people who do worse things than that.” |
Trade opens Friday, September 28th in theaters. |
