JOHNNY ROTTEN COMMENTS PRIOR TO SEX PISTOLS REUNION

The always controversial Johnny Rotten, formerly of The Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. has certainly been an influential musician credited for helping lead the way for British Punk music. Although The Sex Pistols career lasted only three years and produced only four singles and one studio album, in 2006 they were named to The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Yet in true Johnny Rotten form sent in a scathing letter about why the surving members of the band wouldn’t be attending. Formed in London in 1975, The Sex Pistols original members included vocalist Johnny Rotten, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock, who was later replaced by legendary Sid Vicious, who passed away in 1979 from a drug overdose. Their have been recent rumors that Johnny Rotten would be open to working in the studio with surviving Sex Pistol members Steve Jones and Paul Cook. |
We caught up with Johnny Rotten recently to get his thoughts on possibly working again with the surviving members of The Sex Pistols. |

It seems Johnny Lydon, AKA Johnny Rotten, was just trying to keep things quiet about the Sex Pistols staging a one-off gig in November of 2007 to mark the 30th anniversary of their controversial album “Never Mind the Bollocks”. The four surviving members which includes bassist Glen matlock will perform at London’s Brixton Academy on November 8. The Sex Pistols reformed in 1996, and their last concert together was in 2003. |
