JENNIFER GARNER REVELS IN FIGHT SCENE
Could Jennifer Garner be the one to exorcize Matthew McConaughey’s Ghosts in Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past? |
You would think Jennifer Garner would stay clear from playing a government agent who kicks major butt having played a member of the CIA for five years on the hit TV series Alias. |
But director Peter Berg who actually guest starred on Alias in the first season convinced her that this fight scene would be like nothing she’s done before. |
“Jen has done a lot of fighting in Alias and when I was talking her into doing the film she was skeptical because she didn’t want to fight because she said she’d done it all and I told her I thought we could raise the bar a bit and take her into a new level of fighting. Her fight scenes are pretty intense and it’s wild to see the audience cheering and screaming. I just want to tell you one thing about Jen, she’s this beautiful girl but she’s so relatable; she’s just like the girl next door. She’s in there fighting for her life so you’re kind of in there with her fighting for your life.” |
Jennifer got into the fight scene especially when they were deemed fun and bruise worthy by her friend and stunt coordinator who’s been with her since her Alias days. |
“Well there is a fight scene. There wasn’t a fight scene in the original script if I remember correctly but there is quite a fight scene now where it’s kind of a scrabble. It’s very real, it’s very raw. It’s not pretty at all. It’s not choreographed really. It’s just me and this huge man trying to kill each other. It’s one of those moments in a movie where it is clearly black vs. white, good vs. evil and there’s an exciting climax to the scene.” |
Jennifer is currently rehearsing for her Broadway debut as Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac opposite Kevin Kline. The Kingdom opens Friday, September 28th in theaters nationwide. |
