JAMIE FOXX FINDS ROYALTY IN SAUDI KINGDOM
Jamie Foxx is welcomed with royalty in Saudi Arabia shooting The Kingdom. |
Jamie Foxx stars in The Kingdom as the head of an elite FBI team who brings his forces into the wealthy oil nation of Saudi Arabia when innocent people are targeted by radical fundamentalists. |
Foxx got the royal treatment in The United Arab Emirates staying in palatial palace suites as big as football fields while his sister had her own digs down the hall. |
“It was great. They opened up their doors and doors to their palace, 855,000 square kilometers of just the most beautiful architecture you’ve ever seen. They treated us like royalty and they got to see the film too. You know the film is good when they appreciated it and embraced it. So it was just beautiful how they treated us, any food you wanted was there and just hats off to them. I can’t wait to go back and experience some more.” |
The Kingdom breaks down cultural barriers when Jamie’s FBI man aligns himself with a Saudi Colonel to solve the case. Showing the reality of the Middle East was essential to director Peter Berg. |
“Of course dealing with the realness of the situation that’s going on in the Middle East, that’s where it rests but to see how real people interact even though these extreme conditions are happening around them, that’s what the beauty is. Another thing that’s beautiful about Peter Berg how he shows the Saudi and Middle Eastern people and how they enjoy their culture and how they enjoy just being with their family, how they enjoy praying and their religion. I just think it was a beautiful touch.” |
Jamie is studying classical music for his next project The Soloist studying the cello and going undercover on the streets to observe homeless schizophrenic cellist Nathaniel Ayers. |
