GEORGE CLOONEY IS THE FIXER
George Clooney plays a fixer of a corporate law firm who fixes a questionably immoral case. |
George Clooney stars in Michael Clayton playing what they call an in-house fixer to one of the largest corporate law firms in New York. |
Clayton is hired to do the firm’s dirty work, making problems go away by cleaning up the messes they make from cases involving crooked politicians to hit and run accidents. |
“You got a problem because you did a hit and run on a kid on the way home and you’re the client of one of our big corporations, my job is to go in and say, ‘OK how can we make this bleed’ in the least amount. What can we do to make this the least amount of damage possible.” |
When George’s Michael Clayton takes on a case to diffuse a defense attorney’s mental breakdown during his client’s case, he comes to discover much more is at stake that he has been hired to squelch. |
“It is a genre film but it’s a genre film in the styles of the films that we all like, that we also appreciate the films from between ‘65 and ‘75 in the world of Parallax View, in the world of films that have a social conscience because of the subject matter which is simply corporate malfeasance and corruption and it’s also still an entertainment. It’s not a love story so it is something of a thriller.” |
Michael Clayton which also stars Tom Wilkinson and Tilda Swinton opens Friday, October 5th nationwide. |
