JAKE GYLLENHAAL ATTRACTED TO CIA

Jake Gyllenhaal did his homework to play a CIA agent in Rendition.

Jake Gyllenhaal stars in Rendition as a CIA analyst who finds himself caught up in a struggle to release a suspected Egyptian terrorist who disappears on a flight from Africa to Washington, DC.

Jake went on a fact finding mission where he met with CIA officers to key into his character.

“I consider him kind of a ghost, a bit of a hedonist and just someone who’s not really interested in what’s going on around him. And then sort of numb I would say. And then as the movie progresses and as these events start to sort of smack him in the face which they do literally and figuratively I think he’s sort of met with his humanity.”

Jake also watched movies involving CIA agents such as The Spy Who Came In From The Cold and most recently Matt Damon’s performance in The Good Shepherd influenced his work. Rendition opens Friday, October 19th in theaters nationwide.
