30 DAYS OF NIGHT STARS DEPRIVED OF SUNLIGHT
30 Days of Night stars discuss the role the vampires take on in the film. |
Josh Hartnett plays the heroic local sheriff in 30 Days of Night who spends the month with his eyes wide open in pitch blackness protecting a sleepy Alaskan town from flesh eating vampires. |
Josh makes the ultimate sacrifice by becoming one of the undead to protect the woman he loves played by Melissa George. |
“You know you put on the teeth, you put on the eyes and you try to look serious. It’s definitely supposed to be like a sort of out of body experience because he’s struggling with the kind of disease inside of him the whole time. So he’s kind of fighting himself. He’s never quite comfortable in it but he’s also feeling powerful.” |
Melissa thinks the vampires in the film led by Danny Huston enjoyed themselves tremendously. |
“I think the vampires had the most fun. They’re great stuntmen and stuntwomen and they were just so acrobatic and all that make-up and the nails and the costumes and their faces are on all the posters. So yeah they had the time of their life I think.” |
30 Days of Night also features Ben Foster as the vampire’s henchman who is almost unrecognizable grossly made up with rotted teeth and straggly hair. |
