PUDDLE OF MUDD OVERCOMES FOR FAMOUS?
Puddle Of Mudd took their observations and stuffed them all into their new album, Famous, but not without some hard work. |
Puddle Of Mudd has released their new album, and it’s their second record since their breakthrough Come Clean. The band has released their new CD Famous and it follows in the footsteps of 2003’s disappointing Life On Display. |
With continued label support Wes Scantlin and Douglas Ardito talked about the biggest obstacle in getting the album done. |
[Scantlin] “The biggest obstacle was just getting these songs down structured and arranged the right and correct way.” [Ardito] “We re-did certain songs and they came out better, I think, because of it. But in this day and age with file sharing and sales being down at the record companies the people in charge they don’t take chances and they want to see what they believe will be guarantees or else your record doesn’t come out.” [Scantlin] “We felt that it was completed at one certain point, if I’m not wrong, and then there was some other people that were involved in the record that felt that we could probably get some better songs on the record. So, we started to bring in outside type of writers and all in all it seemed to help out tremendously.” |
The album has spawned two singles so far; “Famous” and “Psycho,” and we asked Puddle Of Mudd the inspiration behind the track and the album Famous. |
“You know it was just all about people running around LA and anybody trying to be famous. You’ve got all these celebrities getting popped for whatnot. I’m not even going to mention it, but they’re getting in trouble, and it seems that anybody can get famous for just about anything nowadays. So, that’s kind of what the song kind of pokes at.” |
Puddle Of Mudd was on the road with Saliva and Deepfield through December 6, but Saliva jumped off the tour November 11. The band experienced two member departures, and stay tuned for all the skinny on what went down and how they feel about other bands having their former bandmates. |
