AVRIL LAVIGNE EXCITED FOR BEST DAMN TOUR, BEST DAMN SETLIST

After 2 consecutive #1 albums, Avril Lavigne has announced her Best Damn Tour which will kick off in 2008 and she couldn’t be more excited

After 2 consecutive #1 albums, Avril Lavigne has announced her Best Damn Tour, which will kick off in March of 2008 and she couldn’t be more excited to be out on the road performing for her fans. Avril’s latest album ‘The Best Damn Thing’ which was released in April of 2007 has already been certified platinum in the U.S. and has sold over 4.5 million albums worldwide on the strength of her first single ‘Girlfriend.’ The album even marked the first time Avril’s husband, Derrick Whibley of Sum 41 produced a few tracks for her album. Besides Whibley, Butch Walker and Rob Cavallo also lent their talents to the project that has truly supplanted Lavigne as one of the leading female artists in the world.

At a press conference at the famed Hollywood club The Whiskey A GoGo, Lavigne talked about just how excited she is.

“I’m really excited for The Best Damn Tour. I finally get to go out. It’s been about a year of promo this year. A lot of hard work. So, I’m just excited to go out and play live and perform.”

With the world wide success of her first three albums, Avril won’t have a hard time picking which hit songs to play on tour. Lavigne has scored five number one songs worldwide to date and a total of eleven top ten hits, including “Complicated,” “Sk8er Boi,” “I’m with You,” “My Happy Ending” and “Girlfriend.” Lavigne also discussed her thought process when choosing which songs to play live.

“Of course when you play the hits on stage that’s the most exciting part of the show sometimes. So, I have more to work with now and I probably have about 10 singles which ends of being almost half the set. So, I like having more records and more to work with and I just get to make the show more diverse because I have slower songs, some songs are different like ‘Sk8r Boi’ and ‘Girlfriend’ are upbeat. I have a lot more to work with now, so it’s a lot easier for me.”

The North American Best Damn Tour will kick off March 5th in Victoria Canada and extend until May 9th in Spokane, Washington. Avril will be bringing out Boys Like Girls as her special opening act that will make stops in the U.S. and Canada.
