BACH HELPS AXL ON GUNS N ROSES CHINESE DEMOCRACY
Sebastian Bach gives an update on the insanely delayed, yet highly anticipated release by Guns N Roses, ‘Chinese Democracy.’ |
In what can only be described as one of the most delayed, yet highly anticipated albums of all time, it appears Axl Rose is inching ever closer to finishing the recording process of Guns N Roses upcoming release ‘Chinese Democracy.’ Although Guns N Roses have toured and even sold out arenas like Madison Square Garden, Axl still has yet to finish the album and his fans continue to wait, although possibly not as patiently as before. Sebastian Bach, one of Axl’s close friends, performs backing vocals on the song ‘Sorry’ which is slated to be released on ‘Chinese Democracy.’ |
We caught up with Sebastian Bach, who is currently readying his solo album ‘Angel Down’ which includes three songs with vocal collaborations with Axl Rose, to get his thoughts after recording on and listening to ‘Chinese Democracy.’ |
“It’s actually four records. He’s got four albums worth of material. I don’t know what form it will take you know but I’ve heard it and it’s amazing. It’s like the majesty and grandeur of ‘November Rain’ epic, huge movie soundtrack almost. That’s how big it sounds but with the cool vibe and attitude of ‘Appetite.’ The guy that plays the drums on the album, Brain and he’s an incredible drummer from Primus, the guy just lays it down and it’s just a really cool body of work. He’s a prolific guy. He doesn’t stop you know.” |
Sebastian even talked about having Axl ask him to sing backing vocals on ‘Sorry’ after Sebastian started harmonizing to Axl’s song at a Los Angeles party a few months back. |
“I started singing a harmony to his vocal line and he runs up and goes ‘That sounds great! I want that on the record.’ So we booked a studio session at Electric Lady in New York the very next week. I was like ‘Dude can I have some time off for Christmas Man?’ He’s like ‘January 1st, be there!’ You don’t mess with the artistic process of Axl. So there I was on New Years Day or whenever it was, it was great. Sang a song, then he played me the rest of ‘Chinese Democracy’ and we left the studio about Noon, staggering out of there, ears ringing.” |
As of press time, Axl Rose and Guns N Roses still have no definitive release date planned. But at least we know there will be a ‘Chinese Democracy.’ The question is will it happen before China becomes a Democracy! |
