DA BRAT FACING AGGRAVATED ASSAULT CHARGES

Da Brat free on $50,000 bail after assaulting waitress.

Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, was released on $50,000 bail on Thursday night (November 1st). The rapper was arrested early Thursday (November 1st) morning, for allegedly hitting a waitress in the face with a rum bottle at a Georgia nightclub owned by Jermaine Dupri.

The rapper got into an argument with a waitress at Dupri’s Studio 72 nightclub after the waitress accidentally bumped into her in the VIP section of the nightclub. The incident escalated into a shoving match and a shortly thereafter Da Brat allegedly hit the 24-year-old woman in the face with a rum bottle. The bottle broke and caused a deep laceration in the woman’s cheek and swelling to the forehead. The woman was treated at an area hospital and released.

“I’m working on a new album right now. I’m in the studio with JD. So it’s on and cracking. JD just been cranking out hits especially since the Mariah Carey joint. You know we been working with Bow Wow, it’s just on and cracking. It’s just growing. So even when you don’t hear me, you really do cause I wrote something you heard on the radio.”

Da Brat is facing felony aggravated assault charges.
