GZA disses 50 Cent during London and New York City shows. |
The Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA performed a special two night concert at New York’s Knitting Factory. The two show’s were special because the rapper performed his 1995 platinum album, Liquid Swords, in its entirety. During Thursday’s show on December 13th, the rapper took a shot at hip hop heavyweight 50 Cent before reminding the audience that Wu-Tang Clan is for the children. |
GZA told the audience, “50 Cent ain’t got no mother****ing lyrics.” GZA also took shots at 50 Cent while performing in London earlier this month. The rapper said the G-Unit boss has “lots of money but no talent.” |
“You get to exploit more of your talent as a solo. I mean you featured on more songs. You get to really experiment more. Where as if you’re working with a group, it’s just as much fun but you don’t have to put in as much work. You know being a solo artist like for instance I might have to come with twelve songs by myself, you know, and the rest I put my Clan in there. Where as if you’re working with a Clan, I might only be on four songs out of two CDs, something like that. I know you’re probably witness to that.” |
In related news, the Wu-Tang Clan released their new album, 8 Diagrams on December 11th. The album features guest appearances by Erykah Badu and George Clinton. |
GZA explained the differences between being a solo artist and a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. He said, |
GZA is currently working on a new solo, Pro Tools, which will be released through Babygrande Records next month. He is also working on a joint project with Killah Priest and an album with his son, Young Justice. |
