Pretty Ricky launch new member search while dealing with Pleasure’s lawsuit…..

R&B group Pretty Ricky is currently looking for a new lead singer as Pleasure has left the group. While initially the split was suppose to be amicable, the singer, whose real name is Marcus Cooper, has filed a lawsuit seeking a release from the Bluestar Entertainment as well as back pay that he is owed.

In the lawsuit, Pleasure has accused Joseph “Blue” Smith, Baby Blue and Spectacular’s dad and the head of Bluestar Entertainment, the company Pretty Ricky is signed to in its deal with Atlantic Records, with deceiving him while acting as a surrogate father to him and also serving in roles that were conflicts of interest for Pleasure and the group, including acting as a personal manager, business manager, booking agent, record exec and music publisher.

“I think just this culture, this hip hop culture, R&B culture, music period, everybody think it’s easy. They don’t understand the hours it takes to sustain the celebrity life or even to get into it. Everybody think that cause right now you can be a producer in your living room off of Fruity Loop or whatever. It don;t take the music skills that it took thrity years ago to make it.”

The suit also alleges that Smith used physical intimidation. According to the complaint, when Pleasure began to distance himself from the group and sought out the friendship of others, in one instance, Smith attacked a friend of the singer’s as a means of coercion.

The remaining members of the group are moving forward with plans to record a new album and add a new lead singer. Baby Blue shared that it can be difficult because people under-estimate how much work it takes to make it. Blue said,
