Yung Joc’s Hustlenomics enters chart at Number Three despite sales of only 69,000 copies |
Atlanta-based rapper Yung Joc released his sophomore album, Hustlenomics, last week. The album entered the Billboard 200 albums chart at Number Three this week to match the chart debut of Joc’s 2006 platinum debut, New Joc City. While the new set was able to match chart positions, it fell significantly short in terms of sales. Hustlenomics moved 69,000 copies its first week in stores while New Joc City moved 148,000 its first week out. |
Hustlenomics features guest appearances by Sean “Diddy” Combs, The Game, Young Dro, Pharrell Williams and Trick Daddy. The latest single from the project is “Coffee Shop” featuring Gorilla Zoe. |
“A lot of people say, ‘Yo what is the trap?’ Really the trap, you know what I’m sayin’, if you talk about the trap on the streets, the trap is like where you hustle. It’s like your livelihood. That’s your nine to five or your nine to nine or your twenty four hour. You know it depends on how you trap. Some people don’t even leave the trap. ‘Hey baby bring me some t-shirts down here. Joc, who made Forbes’ Hip Hop Cash King list for earning $10 million last year, is from Atlanta. Several Atlanta rappers inclding T.I., Ludacris, & Young Jeezy reference the trap in their music. Joc broke down exactly what the trap is. He said, |
