KID ROCK RIPS OUT NYC NEW YEAR, EXPECTS BIG 2008
Kid Rock rang in the new year in Times Square in NYC playing at the Pontiac Garage and he talks about the event and his new album bustin’ out in 2008. |
Kid Rock played for revelers in Times Square New York City on New Year’s Eve at the Pontiac Garage. Rock joined The Bravery and Velvet Revolver at the gig to ring in 2008. |
Rock was asked if he realized how many people would be jammed into Times Square for his New Year’s Eve performance. |
“I think I thought about it. I think I’ve been preparing. I was born to do to this. It feels like I’m supposed to be here.” |
Rock added that he is proud of his recent work performing for the troops overseas. |
“My generation has kind of lost sight of some of the things like World War 1 and World War 2, and how many people were really involved in that. So just to be a little part involved and to be able to sing for our soldiers and take pictures, shake hands and just thank them, has just been an incredible experience. It’s something that nothing on this earth can replace.” |
Kid Rock’s latest release is Rock N Roll Jesus, but after reaching the Number One spot shortly after its release, it’s now at Number 48 with a gold certification for sales of 500,000 copies. He said he’s hoping for big things in 2008. |
“This album is, I think it’s the best body of work I’ve ever done, just as a songwriter. I feel more confident, so it’s just a matter of time before it breaks wide open.” |
Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker band recently played a few Northeast casino dates, and he starts a tour of the mid-west and the south starting January 25 in Evansville, Indiana. Dates are currently booked through March 22, when he returns for one northeast date at the Niagra casino in New York. |
