STEVE HOWE FONDLY REMEMBERS YES ON 40TH ANNIVERSARY
Yes is getting ready to tour in support of its 40th anniversary. |
Yes is set to embark on a the “Close To The Edge And Back” summer tour to commemorate their 40 year anniversary. The band also will be recording a live album, with details about the release forthcoming. The most famous line-up of the band will be reuniting, and it’s the first time it’s happened in four years. |
The last time out we caught up with guitarist Steve Howe, who talked about playing with his Yes mates. |
“I don’t think we could have concieved we’d still be here. I think there times were statements like, ‘Oh we wanted to get to the millennium,’ and all this stuff. I think that’s a little bit made up. When you’re living your life not a lot of people look forward a great deal. You look at the time you’re in, you know? Making plans for the future is great, but nobody can predict how long a group will last until it’s lasted this long, and then there becomes a sort of knowingness about it where even we feel we’re not going to change, and this is going to be the line-up we’re going to work with and see out. Who knows? We’d like to think that. That would be our best intention This. That would be our happiest result.” |
The tour begins July 12 at Canada’s Quebec City Festival, and the 26 date run will end August 22 at the Gibson Theater in Los Angeles. |
