STEVE HOWE FONDLY REMEMBERS YES ON 40TH ANNIVERSARY

Yes is getting ready to tour in support of its 40th anniversary.

Yes is set to embark on a the “Close To The Edge And Back” summer tour to commemorate their 40 year anniversary. The band also will be recording a live album, with details about the release forthcoming. The most famous line-up of the band will be reuniting, and it’s the first time it’s happened in four years.

The last time out we caught up with guitarist Steve Howe, who talked about playing with his Yes mates.

“I don’t think we could have concieved we’d still be here. I think there times were statements like, ‘Oh we wanted to get to the millennium,’ and all this stuff. I think that’s a little bit made up. When you’re living your life not a lot of people look forward a great deal. You look at the time you’re in, you know? Making plans for the future is great, but nobody can predict how long a group will last until it’s lasted this long, and then there becomes a sort of knowingness about it where even we feel we’re not going to change, and this is going to be the line-up we’re going to work with and see out. Who knows? We’d like to think that. That would be our best intention This. That would be our happiest result.”

The tour begins July 12 at Canada’s Quebec City Festival, and the 26 date run will end August 22 at the Gibson Theater in Los Angeles.
