THE CAB WALKING A FINE LINE BETWEEN GENRES
The Cab talk about their debut album, ‘Whisper War’ which entered The SoundScan “Top New Artists” chart in the #1 spot. |
The Cab have officially released their highly anticipated Fueled by Raman/Decaydance debut album ‘Whisper War’ and the Las Vegas quintet is quickly making a name for themselves with their pop infused songs. Initially, The Cab exploded throughout the online community, with its demo version of “I’ll Run” logging more than 600,000 plays on the band’s MySpace page, which currently has over 1.9 million profile views . The Cab has now drawn national attention with Alternative Press declaring it to be one of the “100 Bands You Need To Know” in its April issue and being featured in Blender’s annual “Hot Report.” |
We caught up with The Cab recently to get their thoughts on walking a fine line between genres. |
“We’re walking a fine line between genres in being almost too Poppy and being you know, we wanted to find the perfect balance and get the perfect vibe and that was definitely the hardest part, making sure that the songs don’t go too much in one direction but they appeal to us, to everyone in the band and also a wide range of audiences.” |
We also talked with The Cab about recording an album that they are really proud of and they hope it connects with a wide audience. |
“We hope so. I think we just recorded an album that we really enjoy and we’re proud of and we just hope for the best. We worked really hard on it and we’re just waiting for the release. Hopefully kids are into it. Like I said we’re just really, really excited and kind of nervous.” |
Signed to Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen on the recommendation of labelmates Panic At The Disco, the band continues to keep a busy tour schedule having already toured with Cobra Starship, We The Kings and made festival appearances at Austin, Texas’s annual South By Southwest extravaganza in mid-March, and an appearance at Bamboozle, at New Jersey’s Meadowlands and Bamboozle Left in Irvine, California. The Cab are currently touring in support of ‘Whisper War’ with dates extending until May 30th in Anaheim, California. |
