3 DOORS DOWN TIME FOR NUMBER ONE

3 Doors Down will debut at Number One this week on the Billboard 200, and they thank their trend-busting for the honor.

3 Doors Down’s new self-titled album will debut on the Billboard 200 chart at Number One. The album is fueled by the hit song “It’s Not My Time,” and the band has several other songs on the album that can be hits. 3 Doors Down is one of the rock bands that has defied trends and time, with fans coming out and supporting them by buying the album. They’ve sold over 13 million albums worldwide thus far in their career.

Singer Brad Arnold said that the music they want to make just so happens to be the music that fans want to hear.

“The balance between what our fans want and what we like to do is sort of a self-balancing mechanism always. It seems to work out that what we like to do is what we enjoy hearing, and we’re thankful for that.”

3 Doors Down came out at a time where Staind, Limp Bizkit, Creed and others were kings of the rock landscape and before such hipsters as The Strokes, Modest Mouse, and Franz Ferdinand ruled rock in the mid 90s. The band has never been the critics’ favorite and have never been a part of any scene, and Arnold said that’s a good thing.

“We’ve been doing this nine years now, and there’s one thing that we always wanted to do is we always wanted to build a brand. And we feel like now we have established ourself as a brand. If you establish a brand and you produce quality, you have to kind of look at it as a product in a sort of a way. if you produced a quality product and you build a good brand, people will hang on to that. And a lot of the fads in music, you see them coming, it’s like the big new hot thing, and six months later it’s gone and what happened to all those bands that were a part of that? It’s something about songs about life and songs that people can identify with and songs that aren’t so in the right now that generally I just believe last longer. It just doesn’t wear you out. A lot of the fads it’s so cookie cutter almost it wears you out on ’em, you know? You’re done.”

3 Doors Down hit Europe before coming back and touring the U.S. The single rn”It’s Not My Time” was originally written for the Poseidon movie, but they ended up not using the track. The band also had one other significant movie rejection. “Let Me Go” off the last album, Seventeen Days, also became a hit after it was not chosen by the producers of Spider-Man 2.
