KATY PERRY BECOMES ONE OF THE BOYS
Katy Perry’s debut album One Of The Boys hits stores tomorrow (Tuesday, June 17), and she said she’s not the overnight success people think. |
Katy Perry is set to release her new album One Of The Boys on Tuesday, June 17, and her single “I Kissed A Girl” has just entered the top ten on the pop charts. Those who think her success thus far is an overnight sensation need to do a little more research. Perry has been around quite a while and has had a few false starts and a few misfires with other labels. |
She talked about the long-awaited release of her album. |
“Well after many years and many different hoops and ups and downs, we’re coming around the bend. I’m a little nervous. I am a little nervous. Some people think things are overnight or what have you, but especially for me they’re not. I started out when I was 18 on different labels. I’ve been signed, I’ve been dropped. I’ve had a lot of money, I’ve lost a lot of money. I’ve been like, ‘Whoo, bottles, bottles, great!’ And then I’m like, ‘I can’t write a check for my rent!’ unfortunately. I’ve come to the point where we’re ready to release a record, but we really are. I’m really releasing a record.” |
Katy Perry may be entrenched on the Top 40 chart, but she’s going punk starting at the end of the week with the kick-off of the Warped Tour June 20 in Pomona, California.rn |
