A PERFECT CIRCLE LIVE DVD RESTS WITH HOWERDEL AND MAYNARD
Billy Howerdel, formerly of A Perfect Circle reveals the band has amazing footage for a live DVD but whether it sees the light of day remains to be seen |
Having released 3 successful albums in ‘Mer de Noms,’ ‘Thirteenth Step’ and ‘Emotive’ and with full time members Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel currently touring with Tool and Ashes Divide respectively, it’s safe to say A Perfect Circle will remain on their indefinite hiatus, but will the band be releasing anything for their fans in the future? |
We caught up with guitarist Billy Howerdel, who formed A Perfect Circle and recruited Maynard to be the bands vocalist to find out if the band has any live DVD’s in the archive vault that they might want to edit and release for their fans, which would undoubtedly be a tremendous success. |
“I mean possibly. I don’t know, I’ve been so busy doing this (Ashes Divide) that I haven’t even…Maynard’s never pushed it and I’ve never pushed it so, when one of gets the boredom to look into that we’ll put that out someday. I mean maybe that’ll be down the road but yeah we shot two or three days in Texas on the Thirteenth Step Tour and also on Mer de Noms Tour we did a shoot and everyone made it out and someday I think we’ll have those to show.” |
Initially Billy Howerdel was living with Maynard James Keenan when he played him some demos he was working on. Maynard was so impressed with the material that he offered his services as a vocalist should Howerdel ever put together a band. Then with the addition of bassist Paz Lenchantin, guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and drummer Tim Alexander the band hit the studio to record ‘Mer De Noms.’ After adding drummer extraordinaire Josh Freese for most of ‘Mer De Noms’ then adding bassist Jeordie White and guitarist James Iha the band released ‘Thirteenth Step’ and toured with perhaps their most well known lineup. The bands third album ‘Emotive’ was released in 2004 then the band went on an indefinite hiatus while Maynard tours and records with Tool and Billy Howerdel tours with Ashes Divide. Ashes Divide will be on the road this Summer with Linkin Park on the Projekt Revolution Tour. |
