ALL SIDES OF O.A.R. MORE DEVELOPED AND MATURE
O A R are ready to release their latest album ‘All Sides’ and the band talk about what they do well in the studio |
Since forming the band as High School friends, O.A.R. have enjoyed gradual success that has landed them as one of the top indie bands around with already over 1 million albums sold and a growing fan base. Known for their infectious live shows, the band is set to release their 6th studio album. The album, titled ‘All Sides,’ features O.A.R. growing and maturing and building upon their previous album, 2005’s ‘Stories for a Stranger.’ |
We caught up with Jerry DePizzo and Richard On to get their thoughts on their upcoming release ‘All Sides’ showcasing a more mature O.A.R. songwriting team. |
“I think what we do on our records is it always builds on the last effort. And this certainly builds upon the last record ‘Stories for a Stranger.’ I think it’s a more developed, more textured, more mature O.A.R. I think it’s probably the most honest record that we’ve done too. We had much more preparation for this record that ever before and I think it really shows. I think the trick in the studio is not necessarily to play the songs and get a good take but to really perform the songs. This was the first time that we were really prepared enough to really go in and pick the best performance, not just the best take.” |
O.A.R. will release ‘All Sides’ on July 15th and the first single ‘Shattered’ is already making an impact at radio. Look for O.A.R. on the road this summer as the band is currently touring in support of ‘All Sides’ with dates extending until October. O.A.R. will also be performing at The Gorge on August 28-31st in Washington, where they will be opening up for The Dave Matthews Band. |
