EX-KORN HEAD GIVES ALBUM TO WORLD SEPTEMBER 9
Former Korn guitarist Head is set to release his new album Save Me From Myself, and he said Korn fans won’t be disappointed. |
Former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch broke away from the band in 2005, and now he’s ready to release his first full-length album, Save Me From Myself. Like his book of the same title released last year, his struggles with drug addiction, family and finding Jesus and spirituality are documented in the album. The collection sonically harkens back to Korn’s earlier days. |
We asked Head what the biggest obstacle was in getting the album done. |
“Trying to sing because I never tried that before, like seriously tried to sing. So it was a challenge. I got a lot of respect for singers because it’s difficult. Just finding that sound, finding that vocal approach, and what song needs what type of vocal and stuff. Another one of the hardest things was just battling my emotional instability after the Crystal Meth. For two years I was really on edge. I’d blow up a lot, but I got past that.” |
We also asked him he wants his former bandmates in Korn, Jonathan, Munky, David, and Fieldy, to hear Save Me From Myself. |
“Yeah, totally because we’ve got the same sound. We developed a sound together, and…I haven’t heard any comments from them. Maybe they’ve heard it. It depends how busy they are and if they care to hear it or not. I’m sure they do, because I they love me. I know they don’t want me to fail, because they know that I’m doing something. It’s OK if we have similar sounds. I came from that family. It’s all good. I don’t want them to fail, and I’m sure they don’t want me to fail.” |
Save Me From Myself arrives in stores September 9, and the first single and video will be “Flush.” Check back in the coming days and weeks where Head talks about his break with Korn, the craziness that led him to quit the business, and his return to the music scene.rn |
