SLIPKNOT DEBUTS AT NUMBER ONE AFTER HISTORIC RECOUNT

Slipknot has topped the Billboard 200 with their new album, All Hope Is Gone. It was neck and neck with rapper The Game, but it eventually came out on top. All hope ws not gone as it was intitially tabulated that The Game was Number One, by 13 copies, but Roadrunner Records asked for a recount and came out on top by at least 1000. |
While Slipknot had expectations to meet at Roadrunner Records, but we asked percussionist Chris if he felt pressure from the fans to follow-up previous successes. |
“No, because we do it for ourselves first. I mean, and that’s the biggest critics in the world is us nine. So, that is such an insane process that we don’t worry about what the rest of the world thinks because we’re in there creating. And we know what we like. We know what sounds good. We’re in touch with the kids. We’re in the music scene, and we listen to other music and stuff like that, so we understand.” |
Slipknot recently completed their stint as headliners on the Mayhem Festival. The band will embark on a world tour starting in October. All Hope is gone debuted at Number One in Australia, Austria, Canada, Finland, New Zealand, Sweden and Switzerland. It debuted at Number Two in Belgium, France, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom, and a Number Three debut in Norway. |
