BUCKCHERRY LAND FIRST TOP TEN ALBUM WITH BLACK BUTTERFLY
Building on the success of 2006’s hit album ’15’ Buckcherry land their first Top Ten Album with ‘Black Butterfly’ |
Buckcherry landed their highest charting album of their career with “Black Butterfly” which debuted at #8 on The Billboard Album Chart. “Black Butterfly,” which is the follow up to 2006’s Platinum selling album “15” once again showcases the songwriting duo of Josh Todd and Keith Nelson and features the band building on their previous success, not resting on it. While “15” catapulted the band back to the forefront of Rock N Roll with the mega hits “Crazy Bitch” and “Sorry,” Buckcherry are eager to prove they have the talent for longevity. |
We caught up with Josh and Keith recently to get their thoughts on the songwriting for “Black Butterfly” being inspired by the success of “15.” |
“I mean I felt inspired by the success of “15” because it felt like we had got the nods from the gods of Rock N Roll that we were doing the right thing. So, it inspired me to keep doing what we were doing.” |
We also wanted to know why Josh Todd and Keith Nelson gel as songwriters. |
“(Nelson) I just think that we kind of know, we come from different backgrounds and we meet in the middle and it sounds a certain way and I haven’t ever collaborated with anyone else that has kind of had that thing were it just clicks like that.” “(Todd) Keith has a lot of things that I don’t have you know and vice versa, so I think that’s why the songs are amazing and the chemistry is really great. We kind of knew that when we first met. We weren’t really, we were very leary of each other you know and once we wrote that first song it kind of sparked us and we got excited you know. Then it’s been happening ever since and it’s still happening.” |
Buckcherry are currently touring in support of “Black Butterfly” with Shinedown and Saving Abel. The tour will extend until October 11th in North Carolina. Buckcherry will then head overseas on a brief tour of Japan to end October before returning to the U.S. with tour dates with Avenged Sevenfold. Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold tour dates extend until November 22nd in Youngstown, Ohio. |
