BRIAN HEAD WELCH ON POSSIBILITY OF KORN RETURN
Former Korn guitarist Brian Head Welch answers the question all fans want to know – will he rejoin Korn? |
Former Korn guitarist Brian Head Welch has released his new solo album, and it’s his first release outside the band he grew up in. Welch has detailed his trials and tribulations in the book and the album Save Me From Myself, and he realizes that fans of Korn may have had a hard time dealing with what the guitarist says is something he needed to do to still be alive. |
He talked about how Korn’s fans are reacting to his new effort. |
“To tell you the truth, a lot of them – even though they like the new stuff I’m doing they’re just – the hard-core fans want Korn back. They’re like, ‘When you go back to Korn are you going to take that sound you got with the new stuff back with the guys?’ It’s really cool. They know that I’m doing something. They know I got a calling and I just feel I need to share what I went through. It’s really cool to be supported by them because I motivated a lot of them to hate me early on. I learned something new about the Korn fans, that they have mercy and grace too, and forgiveness for people.” |
Head also talked about rejoining Korn. |
“Well I got a couple of questions sent to me last month and they’re like, ‘You keep on saying that you don’t know what the future holds if you’ll ever join Korn again. Why don’t you tell us a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ – quit playing with us!’ I was like, ‘I’m not. I don’t have any plans to go back there, but I don’t know what the future holds. I don’t.’ What if they wanted to do something similar to what I’m wanting to do, positivity or something like that down in a few years? Would I say no to that? So I can’t… I ain’t got no plan. I’m doing my own thing, but there is… Korn is a huge band, and they love us all together so I gotta expect it, but I guess I’m just used to it. That’s the short answer. I’m used to them… Everywhere I go they’re like, ‘Do you think you’ll ever go back to them.’ I’m used to it. I don’t feel pressure because I’m just going to do whatever I feel led to do.” |
Head recently ran into some controversy with his video “Flush.” The video has various images of Jesus Christ in compromising positions, and certain Christian retailers have pulled the album from their stores. rn |
