AARON LEWIS BALANCING FAMILY AND STAIND RECORDING AT HOME STUDIO
Aaron Lewis talks about recording Staind’s latest album ‘Illusion of Progress’ at his home studio and how he had to balance family and work |
Staind are once again enjoying tremendous success with the release of their latest album, “Illusion of Progress.” The album, which is Staind’s 5th studio album, debuted at #3 on The Billboard Top 200 Chart and was recorded at lead vocalist Aaron Lewis’ home studio. Recording “Illusion of Progress” at his home studio no doubt had some distractions for Lewis, but it also had many advantages like having no limit to studio time which can help keep the creative juices flowing. |
We caught up with Aaron Lewis recently to get his thoughts on balancing his family life with his business life during the “Illusion of Progress” recording sessions at his home studio. |
“Well the comforts of being at home were the distractions. Everyday at 3 oclock I would have to stop what I was doing and pick up my daughter from school and sometimes go down and have dinner or put them to bed. You know, I tried to balance the two.” |
We also talked with Aaron Lewis about when he gets most creative in the studio. |
“Sitting right there in the studio in the control room with the pressure on that it has to be done. I do it to myself. I just procrastinate and put it all the way off until it’s the last thing to do on the record and in order for the record to be done, I have to finish.” |
Staind are currently touring in support of “Illusion of Progress” with special guests Seether and Papa Roach. The tour extends until December 4th in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Aaron Lewis also announced a brief run of solo tour dates kicking off January 2nd at The Green Valley Resort in Henderson, NV. Staind will then head to Europe with dates beginning January 21st in Glasgow, UK and extending until February 10th in Paris, France. Staind will also be the featured guests on the nationally syndicated radio show Rockline on Monday October 13 at 8:30pm PT. |
