AGAINST ME BACKING OBAMA AGAINST MCCAIN
Tom Gabel of Against Me talks about the positive influence Barack Obama will have not only America but on the world if he’s elected President |
In one of the most important elections in recent history, Barack Obama seems to be in perfect position to be elected the next President of The United States of America. Although John McCain continues to insist he will be victorious, clearly Americans have been more than a little concerned with McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his Vice President. With less than a week to go before the election on Tuesday November 4th, both sides will look to solidify as many electoral votes as possible leading up to the election. Although Against Me, who recently filmed a Public Service Announcement about the importance of voting, are currently on hiatus, lead vocalist Tom Gabel has released a solo EP titled “Heart Burns” which is inspired by this year’s tense political climate. |
Artisan News caught up with Tom Gabel to get his thoughts on this year’s election and why he thinks Obama will be a positive influence on not only America, but the world as well. |
“Personally I know I’m going to vote for Barak Obama and I really think that him being elected would be an overwhelming positive thing for The U.S. and the world in general or at least their view point of us. I think that’s it’s really an interesting election. Sometimes I’m watching the news and they say it’s kind of a close election and it blows my mind that it could be even close at all. I don’t understand but hopefully the tides will turn.” |
Tom Gabel is currently touring in support of his solo album “Heart Burns.” The tour kicked off October 29th in Ventura, Ca and extends across America concluding November 21st in Hamden, CT. Against Me plan to get back into the studio in early 2009 to begin recording their follow up album to 2008’s “New Wave.” |
