THE CURE, STP, SNOW PATROL, AFI, PARAMORE SET FOR KROQ XMAS
Snow Patrol share their thoughts on performing at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic XMAS to close out 2008 and why radio is still the most important medium |
The Cure, Stone Temple Pilots, Death Cab for Cutie, Staind, Rise Against, AFI, Slightly Stoopid, The Killers and Paramore are just a few of the bands scheduled to appear at the annual KROQ Almost Acoustic XMAS, which will be held December 14th and 15th at Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles, California. KROQ 105.5, which is easliy one of America’s top Alternative music radio stations, has had a hand in helping each of these bands achieve the success they’ve experienced, due to being in the major market of Los Angeles. |
We caught up with Gary of Snow Patrol, who are currently touring in support of their latest album “A Hundred Million Suns” to get his thoughts on playing at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic XMAS and why radio is still the most important medium. |
“KROQ have been brilliant for us this year. They’ve been playing our record and it’s really the most important medium of them all because people hear your record and if they like it they go and buy it. It sounds almost idiotic to say those words like that but I mean it’s so simple and true. An event like this to top the year off with so many bands and so many of my favorite bands. I mean just being selfish about it.” |
Rounding out the lineup for KROQ’s two day Almost Acoustic XMAS extravaganza will be The Offspring, Franz Ferdinand, 3 Days Grace, Hollywood Undead, Vampire Weekend and a very special performance by Scott Weiland, who just released his latest solo album “Happy in Golashes.” Check KROQ’s website for daily lineups and set times. |
