MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE COURT WATCHMEN
My Chemical Romance covered Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” for the Watchmen soundtrack, and the band notes they’re big fans of the comic heroes. |
My Chemical Romance’s remake of the Bob Dylan classic, “Desolation Row,” is the lead track from the soundtrack to Watchmen. The song was specifically made for the movie, and appears on the Music From The Motion Picture Watchmen collection with previously recorded songs from Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix among others. |
My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, who also planned a career as a comics illustrator, and Frank Iero talk about Watchmen and their contribution. |
[Way] “After reading that, I wanted to be a comic artist. This new video to me feels very Rorschach, straight out of Watchmen.” [Iero] “It’s really weird to be doing it because we’ve been such huge fans of the Watchmen for so long, and now to be involved in that is kind of mind-blowing.” [Way] “One of the coolest things is to be able to give somebody Watchmen for the first time and know they have no idea what it is… That’s really exciting.” |
Aside from the collection Music From The Motion Picture Watchmen, there’s also Watchmen Original Motion Picture Score, which was composed by recording artist, composer, and music producer Tyler Bates. Bates also worked on 300, and Dawn Of The Dead. |
