CHRISTY HEMME RETURNS TO THE RING AND THE STUDIO
Christy Hemme took time off from TNA Wrestling due to a neck injury and came out with an EP, and she has news about the ring and the studio. |
Christy Hemme is a wrestler, a model and a Playboy Playmate, but she is hoping to add her greatest passion, music, to her repertoire. She experienced a neck injury late last year, and with her down time, she decided to work on an EP and move towards her second LP. |
Christy does give an update on where she’s at with the injury and when she’ll return to the ring for TNA Wrestling. |
“I have a couple of herniated discs in my neck. I stopped wrestling in November and a couple of weeks ago I started training again, not wrestling, but just working out again, and I feel great. I feel awesome, so I get my MRI next week and I go into TNA to start talking about coming back at the end of the month.” |
Her band is called Hemme and she’s released a new EP titled Where Are You, and it’s a combination of modern hard rock mixed with the ’90s sound of the Cranberries as a starting point. She talked about what the biggest labor of love was in making the EP. |
“They were all labors of love. I would have to say this EP… it’s a bit selfish for me in the way that it is the foundation of what Hemme is. I really wanted a really stripped down version of what the sound is going towards because I wanted to have something I could listen to, that reminded me of why I was doing what I was doing, and what I believe in, and why I’m so passionate about what I’m doing, and what makes me, me, and all these things. And Where Are You is really that. It’s a big reminder for me to sit back and look at where I’m at and why I’m here.” |
Hemme talks about music versus wrestling. |
“The reality is that wrestling is not something that I can do forever. My body gets to tell me when I can and can’t do it. I’m very passionate about wrestling. I love wrestling and so I’ll continue to do it as far as I can. Music I can do forever, whether or not I get paid, that’s a whole ‘nother story, but it’s definitely…. I’ve always been somebody that followed their passion. If I didn’t believe in something, I didn’t do it. I’m definitely following my passion.” |
Her first single is “Don’t Give Up,” which she said is a testament to who she is and how hard she’ll work to achieve her dreams. She does plan on getting the full length done and a tour scheduled as soon as her triumphant return to the ring gets in full swing. |
