ALL TIME LOW JOINS WARPED TOUR
All Time Low, a favorite at last year’s Warped Tour, has signed on for a part of 2009. |
All Time Low, which made an appearance at last year’s Warped Tour is a late addition to the tour. The band announced on Monday that they’ll be playing about half the tour starting with the July 19th concert in New Jersey and heading through the end of the tour in Los Angeles August 23. The band has a new album titled Nothing Personal coming out on July 7. |
Vocalist Alex Gaskarth said that new bands in 2009 have to be anti-rock stars to survive. |
“It’s definitely a problem. I think the past five and ten years, in fact, it’s really started to get that way and it gets worse and worse it seems. It’s not even flavor of the month anymore, it’s like flavor of the half-hour, really. A band can be picked up and replaced by fans so quickly because there’s another band out there that sounds a little bit newer and little bit fresher than the last one did. There’s no longer that mystique about being a rock star anymore. It used to be that the harder you were to find after shows the more people wanted to meet you, the more famous you looked. And it worked with, like, Def Leppard and all those bands. You were led around by security and you only got to come backstage if you were blonde and a D-cup. Now it’s like if you don’t make an effort to meet your fans they will throw you aside for the band that does. I think it’s important to be as interesting as possible.” |
The band’s first single “Weightless” is available at certain music outlets, and they just finished up a run of dates as part of The Believers Never Die Part Deux tour, organized by Fall Out Boy. rn |
