TAKING BACK SUNDAY RELEASES “NEW AGAIN”
Taking Back Sunday will release their new effort, New Again, on Tuesday, June 2, and the band talked about what it means for them. |
Taking Back Sunday is released their new album New Again on Tuesday, June 2, and they’re riding their first single, “Sink Into Me.” The album debuted at Number 7 on the Billboard 200 album charts after its first week of release. The band lost guitarist Fred Mascherino and replaced him with Matt Fazzi. |
Adam Lazzara and Matt Rubano talked about the biggest obstacle in getting New Again done. |
“We always want to be growing, and that’s always one of our main goals whenever we go to work on anything is just to make sure that we’re not standing in stillwater. The thing that I think, one of the things that is special about New Again is that we agreed there is nothing that we wouldn’t try. Whereas before somebody might come in with a part, and we’d go, ‘I don’t know if we can do that.’ It’s almost like for a long time we forgot that we dicated what Taking Back Sunday is, and we decide what Taking Back Sunday sounds like.” |
They also talked about the new guy, Matt Fazzi. |
[Matt] “Ah, Matt Fazzi.” [Adam] “Matt Fazzi.” [Matt] “Let’s just sit back for a moment and appreciate Matt Fazzi. So hansome, so talented, good guy, beautiful voice.” [Adam] “Plays many an instrument. He has a great passion for music. With him joining the band it’s almost like it re-ignited this flame, spark that I feel was missing for a while.” |
Taking Back Sunday have been doing extensive promo before the album was even released, and their song “Sink Into Me” is Number 16 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and on its way higher. |
