ESCAPE THE FATE TALKS JAILED SINGER, MOVING ON
Escape The Fate are looking forward after a long ordeal involving former singer Ronnie Radke. The singer is currently serving time in a Las Vegas prison for his involvement in the 2006 death of Michael Cook after a fight. It’s been just over a year since he was ordered to serve his 18 to 24 month sentence after failing to show for rehab and counseling appearances. The band reluctantly dismissed Radke and turned temporary singer Craig Mabbitt into a permanent member. |
Drummer Robert Ortiz, with Bryan “Monte” Money by his side, said he’s still saddened by Radke’s plight. |
[Ortiz] “Well, bro, it hurt dude. That was, like, my whole life. I’ve known that fool for years. It sucked. it hurt. Watch it you got this guy right here… [Craig Mabbitt] “Our band kicks ass, in case you didn’t know already.” [Ortiz] “This definitely helps. For on the realz, it hurt dude. Man, there was a lot of bad feelings going around. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever play music again. I hated it, dude, and I know we all went through that. We were all searching for something in life to fill that void because we didn’t know that we would have another shot. When Craig came along, we still had those feelings we needed to get out and now we’re so beyond that. I love playing with him. I love making music with him. We all do. Sharing the stage with him is the best feeling I’ve ever had.” [Monte] “The band is much better dude, more peaceful.” |
The band’s latest album is This War Is Ours, which is the first recording with Mabbitt on vocals. It features their latest single “10 Miles Wide,” with special guest Josh Todd of Buckcherry. Escape The Fate is currently touring the country as part of the Warped Tour. |
