CHUCK D TRYING TO KEEP REALITY STAR FLAVOR FLAV OUT FRONT
Public Enemy’s Chuck D talks about the reality show success of Flavor Flav and why he wants to keep him out front. |
As Chuck D, Flava Flavor and Public Enemy continue recording songs for an upcoming new album, which will be the bands follow up to 2007’s “How You Sell Soul to a Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul?”, Flavor Flav continues to gain new fans around the world with his wild reality TV persona. Staring in multiple hit shows like The Surreal Life, Strange Love, and Flavor of Love, Flavor Flav not only commands the live stage when he performs, but he also captivates his television audience as well. It was Chuck D, who recognized the talents of Flavor Flav in the early 1980’s and brought him into record vocals thus signaling the start of Public Enemy and the pair helped build the band into one of the most influential Hip Hop acts in history. |
Artisan News caught up with Chuck D to find out if he had any plans to star in a reality show in the future and how he feels about Flavor Flav becoming a reality star. |
“No, that’s not my job. My job is to give the audio. We got a couple of radio shows, we got a bunch of things behind the scenes and making songs and all that and my job is to probably keep Flavor Flav out front as much as possible. So I hope we can get some more television shows for him.” |
Public Enemy are currently on hiatus with no shows booked as of press time. Fans of Public Enemy will be pleased to know the band has collaborated with guitarist Zakk Wylde to re-record PE’s famous rap anthem “Bring The Noise 20XX” which is exclusively on the video game Guitar Hero 5. Numerous bands are also making their music video game debut on Guitar Hero 5’s massive 85-song set list, including A Perfect Circle, Eagles of Death Metal, Gorillaz, Gov’t Mule, Grand Funk Railroad, King Crimson, Peter Frampton, Spacehog and The Derek Trucks Band. |
