THE BRAVERY RECORD STIR THE BLOOD IN ABANDONED CHURCH
The Bravery talk about recording their latest album “Stir the Blood” in a church and why it helped the band’s sound. |
The Bravery are set to release their upcoming new album “Stir the Blood” and it will the bands highly anticipated follow up to 2007’s “The Sun and The Moon” which debuted at number 24 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 chart. The first single off “Stir the Blood” will be the single “Slow Poison” and the album will also feature a new remix of their hit song “An Honest Mistake.” For the upcoming new album the band recorded the tracks in upstate New York in an abandoned church giving the album and unmistakable huge sound. |
Artisan News caught up with lead vocalist Sam Endicott of The Bravery to get his thoughts on the band recording “Stir the Blood” in an abandoned church. |
“We recorded most of it in an abandoned church in upstate New York. We went up to this church in the woods. I just lived there for awhile, for a long time and I just layed down all kinds of sounds. Just bizarre stuff and then we came back home to the city and remixed it. Just went through everything and cut it up and rearranged it and that’s how we made the songs. There’s a massive room that was the church but with all the pews taken out and it’s filled with equipment. So you just set up mics in there and you get a really ambient sound.” |
“Stir the Blood” was produced by Endicott alongside John Hill (Santigold, Shakira) and the band are currently touring North America with dates extending until November 11th in Vancouver, British Columbia. Look for The Bravery to announce another round of tour dates closer to their December release of “Stir the Blood.” |
