WITH #1 ALBUM, TWILIGHT SAGA NEW MOON KICKS OFF NATIONWIDE TOUR

Singer songwriter Anya Marina is currently on a brief tour supporting the #1 album in the U.S., “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” and the tour also features a fan Q & A with a few cast members at each stop. The nationwide tour will make stops in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle and Minneapolis before the final show November 14th in Salt Lake City, Utah. Cast members Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Jamie Campbell Bower, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Chaske Spencer, and Bronson Pelletier will make selected appearances alongside musical performances from Anya Marina and Hurricane Bells.

Artisan News caught up with Anya Marina whose song “Satellite Heart” is the second single from the soundtrack, to get her thoughts on being asked to headline the New Moon tour.

“We’re going to do a New Moon tour actually with some of the cast and I’m the musical entertainment. It’s just me and some of the cast members from New Moon are going on tour to Salt Lake City and Chicago and Seattle and Minneapolis so we’re going to have fun in a Hot Topic near you!”

New Moon is the second novel in the Twilight series by author Stephenie Meyer and the book peaked at #1 on both the New York Times Best Seller list and USA Today’s Top 150 Bestsellers, and was the biggest selling children’s paperback of 2008 with over 5 million copies sold. The soundtrack features performances from Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, The Killers, Muse, Anya Marina, Bad of Skulls, Bon Iver and Death Cab for Cutie, who contributed the album’s first single, “Meet Me on the Equinox.”
