SUPER PRODUCER DAVID GUETTA TABS 5 GRAMMY NOMS
Producer David Guetta recieved a staggering five Grammy nominations in 2010, including Album and Record of the Year as well as a nomination for producer for the Black Eyed Peas hit single “I Gotta Feeling.” Guetta’s album “One Love” was nominated for three awards, including Best Dance/Electronic Album and he recieved yet another for Best Remixed Recording for his collaboration with Kelly Rowland on the track “When Love Takes Over.” These are David Guetta’s first Grammy nominations and The Recording Academy celebrated his amazing year by having him perform with The Black Eyed Peas during the Grammy Nomination event that was televised nationally. |
Backstage after recieving his five nominations David Guetta talked about dance music finally recently getting more and more recognition for their influence on music. |
“I don’t think anybody can beat the energy that we have in dance music. The way we produce it’s really physical, I don’t know, you have to dance because the frequencies we use you have no choice. The urban music nothing can beat those melodies and the way they sing, so when we’re together it’s just really crazy. I’m happy that dance music can finally touch people’s hearts with my album and what we’ve done with The Peas outside of our community because I always wanted to share that passion, that music with more people. I don’t understand why this music is not as big as Hip Hop or Pop or Rock, you know and it’s happening now.” |
David Guetta also talked about trying to bridge electronic music from Europe with urban music from America. |
“Me trying to create that bridge between electronic music from Europe and urban music from America and I think dance music was always so under rated in America. We, with Wil.I.am also, we proved that’s wrong because “I Got a Feeling” and “When Love Takes Over” and “Sexy Bitch” and you know Lady Gaga obviously and so many artists that are calling me right now to produce, next year is going to be so big. It’s a massive wave because now we’re all together. It’s like there’s no more frontiers. It’s all about good music and sharing passion.” |
David Guetta recently worked with Madonna on a remix of her song “Revolver,” which is off of her greatest hits compilation “Celebration.” Guetta has also collaborated with Akon on the track “Sexy Bitch” which has already gone platinum in the U.S. with over 1 million downloads. UK R&B vocalist Estelle has also worked with Guetta on another hit single featuring DJ Chuckie and Calvin Harris. Look for 2010 to be another huge year in the career of David Guetta as he is now reportedly working on Britney Spears and Kelly Rowland upcoming albums for 2010. |
