Rap mogul 50 Cent broke into the Top Ten of the Forbes Celebrity100 list this year. The rapper earned an estimated $41 million from June 2005 to June 2006 from record and ringtones sales, his G-Unit clothing line, Reebok sneaker deal, and his Vitamin Water drink to land at Number Eight on the list. |
The rapper explained that money does cause things to change. He said, |
“They say things you go through make you who you are. I lived the lifestyle that they owuld consider a succesful lifesytle for the last three years. You know, but I’ve been that because I’ve been writing about my experiences in South Jamaica, Queens. You know, so I don’t actually want to change much, but anyone who tells you that money don’t change you just didn’t make enough.” |
The rest of the Celebrity 100 Top Ten includes: (1) Tom Cruise – $67 million, (2) Rolling Stones – $90 million, (3) Oprah Winfrey – $225 million, (4) U2 – $110 million, (5) Tiger Woods – $90 million, (6) Steven Spielberg – $332 million, (7) Howard Stern – $302 million, (9) Cast of Sopranos – $52 million, and (10) Dan Brown – $88 million. |
Next up for 50 Cent is the release of Lloyd Banks’ sophomore album, The Rotten Apple. The album is scheduled to hit stores next month. |
