300 VICTORIOUS AT BOX OFFICE

The Spartan warriors of 300 claimed unanimous victory at the box office war this weekend battling the competition to shame earning 70 million dollars.

Gerard Butler as King Leonidas who led his army of 300 into battle says winning is the Spartan way.

“Our film first of all sets up what a Spartan is and it’s very extreme what they went through. In the context of what happened in history it’s a phenomenal set-up. You see there were no soldiers ever like these guys; their training, the endurance and the toughness. So you set all that up and immediately you’re aware of where you sit with these guys. And then the scenario unfolds of OK, here’s the perfect challenge. This massive army invading from the North, the Persians who they hate anyway and who hate them and they have to go and do what is their dream essentially which is to die in the perfect battle.”

Wild Hogs surrendered it’s number one spot earning 28 million, and Ghost Rider pulled in 6.8 million.
