30 Seconds to Mars have released their first album in four years and “This is War” is the follow up to their incredibly successful album from 2005, “A Beautiful Lie.” 30 Seconds to Mars celebrated the release of “This is War” with a party at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Ca on December 9th, 2009 and the band, were also announced for the cover of Nylon Guys magazine for their upcoming January issue, which features Jared Leto, Shannon Leto, and TomoMilicevic on the cover. |

“This is War” comes after the band resolved a lawsuit brought on by their record label, Virgin Records who filed a $30 Million dollar lawsuit claiming they failed to deliver the three albums required by their contract. After resolving the lawsuit the band decided to resign with Virgin Records as both parties agreed to forget the past and move forward. “This is War” also features 2,000 different album covers featuring individual photos of fans, family, music industry execs, actors and celebrities from around the world that are used as covers for the album itself and shipped randomly to stores around the world. |
There are also a number of celebs and industry ringers in the batch, including Irving Azoff and Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta as well as label execs Ron Werre, Greg Thompson, Angelica Cob-Baehler, Colin Finklestein and Bob Semanovich, Bam Margera, Kat Von D, Conan O’Brien, members of the bands Chevelle and Street Drum Corps, among others.[19][20] Leto’s mom also features on a cover |
