3 DOORS DOWN KATRINA CONCERN AND AID
3 Doors Down is currently touring with Staind and Breaking Benjamin, and was nowhere near home right outside Biloxi, Mississipi, which bore the brunt of hurricane Katrina yesterday. |
The band of course tried to reach loved ones and survey the damage, but one thing is sure, 3 Doors Down will help with the relief efforts. Unlike other rock stars who move to major cities, the band still resides in their hometown and has formed a charitable organization, The Better Life foundation. Vocalist Brad Arnold talked about giving back through the charitable organization. |
“I don’t know, man. It’s just. It’s not that hard to give back, you know? And it really doesn’t take much more than just the will to do it and like on this tour just a dollar from every ticket we sell on this tour goes to The Better Life Foundation. Over the course of this tour, we’ll probably sell a half-a-million tickets, so that’s a half-a-million dollars for 16 charities that need money. Most of ’em are children’s hospitals and there’s some homeless shelters and some battered women shelters, like the Daily Bread in our hometown to feed the homeless and it’s just things like that. But it’s really not that hard.” |
3 Doors Down is currently out supporting its latest album, Seventeen Days, which features the song “Let Me Go.” The band will be touring through November 12 with new openers Shinedown and Alter Bridge. |
